Tzion 2013-2014

While we build the Tzion website program matters will hover here a while longer.  Last year I enjoyed teaching in Sharon so much.  Wonderful group, wonderful material, I learned a lot about teaching and about the issues themselves.  We begin year two in October.  I am also working with Tina Kasimer on planning our class Israel trip, which will be a great capstone to the classroom experience (even though we’re planning the trip for March, a generally much better time to go than summer).  We are also starting three new Tzion classes, one in Brookline, one at Congregation Shir Tikvah in Wayland, and one at Temple Beth Elohim in Wellesley.  Thank you to our congregational partners and their leadership, to CJP, our partner in working with the congregations, and an important supporter of Tzion from its inception.  And last but not least Tzion begins in Baltimore, with our partner the Baltimore Hebrew Institute of Towson University.  BHI’s Executive Director Jill Max continues to be an important voice helping Tzion to develop both academically and communally, and without her our Baltimore class would not be happening.  Baltimore Tzion RegistrationFlyer

[David] has a brilliant mind; he is a scholar of great range and depth; he is a deeply devoted father and husband; his outstanding abilities at organization are manifest in the splendid Me'ah Program he created and fostered; he is a forceful and moving orator; he is a man of both compassion and commitment; he is a teacher who fortifies and inspires; he is a natural leader; and his contribution to the Jewish community is legendary.
